GW CR Media Coverage in Ohio!

Taking a break from Phone Banking...

Congrats to our guys in the Parma Victory center, where some awesome footage was taken and just shown on Local News for Fox's Affiliate in Cleveland.

Maura had a great shot of her calling the local constituents and getting out the vote.

A couple days ago we also got a mention in POLITICOS Playbook thanks to our guys campaigning for Nan Baker.
"Pool Report From Brian Danza: "GW CR's take Cuyahoga County by Strom in waves of Minivans and Nantastic doorhangers."

For the Typical Ohio Voter,

McCain's economic message resounded.

We've seen it going door to door, and calling people around the state. In a state hit by harder times than the rest of the country, they just don't want Obamunism taxing and spending their money. When this night is over, I think you'll see that Ohioans rejected the plans that were detrimental to their future.

At this point, we are past spreading the message, . But, as people return home from work this evening, REMIND THEM TO VOTE for the message they believe in.

I'm going back to making phone calls. More from Columbus later tonight.

Our ears on the ground...

tell us that Republican turnout in Ohio is higher than ever. Continuing to make phone calls, we're tripling BC '04 voter contact numbers, and the night isn't over yet. GOTV is all about reminding people to exercise their right to vote, and while we may be annoying, this could be the key to winning this election.

Manic Ground War

If Senator McCain indeed pulls off the greatest political upset of modern times it will be because of the ground war. The air war has been lost for quite some time with both mass media coverage favoring "That Guy" and the more skilled messaging and fundraising staff working for... "That Guy". Despite this we are waging a remarkable effort through our grass-roots effort, at 2pm we recieved word that we surpassed our one million call mark for the final 96 hours. If the coronation of Senator Obama is foiled, it will be because of the dedication of our volunteers and field staff that have labored intensively through it all. I can say this, we have left everything on the field, our support base has given their all, and at the end of the day we are out to prove American's have fundamentaly rejected liberlism as the solution. I hope so, because unlike Senator Obama, I happen to think the Constitution doesnt need interpreted and twisted for any type of political gain or vision.

Where in the world is Cuyahoga County?

Connor's right that I was skeptical about Cuyahoga County, but since being here, we've realized that there's a lot of promise in this county by the lake. By boosting underperforming GOP turnout from the past three cycles, we can provide a needed cushion to the rest of Ohio. An unpopular Democratic Congressman, a flood of volunteers, and a can-do spirit could be the perfect storm for a McCain victory in Ohio. Next up: a guest post from the field director from the Westlake Victory Office in Westlake, Ohio.

Already reports of Voting Problems for Cuyahoga County

Fox News and Politico.com have already reported instances of voting problems in Cuyahoga County, where we are stationed.
In Cuyahoga County, Ohio, where the Federal Elections Commission has sent election monitors, voters have already reported 58 problems voting.

While canvassing Connor and I noticed early this morning that many of the polling stations didn't have long lines. Several constituents in Cuyahoga told me that voting for them wasn't a problem in the morning.

We're now in the middle of the lunchtime rush and many polling stations in Cuyahoga are starting to report long lines. Good news for us, is that many Republicans in the area that we have talked to are showing up to vote (unlike in 2006).
